Sailboats checker the Chesapeake Bay horizon en route to the Atlantic while big barges head north for port cities like Baltimore, passing quaint rural towns on the Eastern Shore and time-forgotten islands along the way.
Sandhill cranes and Whitetail deer might not seem so out of place in southeast Maryland, but it's a bet that Titi monkies, bison, tropical birds and jaguars will. Courtesy of exhibits at the Salisbury Zoological Park, however, visitors are treated a glimpse of these and other less-often spotted species, a pleasant place to enjoy a wildlife sighting wander. Be sure to watch the events calendar for information on annual big zoo bashes and educational programs.
