Description

Baltimore Harbor might not be the best place to go snorkelling but visitors to the National Aquarium at water's edge can get the best of both worlds - an enjoyable glimpse of sub-surface life in an environment that's safe (from sharks and ships) and dry. Housed in this facility are over 16,500 critters who call rivers and sea home, from pudgy little puffins to cruising sharks, bottlenose dolphins to larger-than-life turtles. Look for Pygmy marmosets and Golden lion tamarins at large in the Amazon River Forest, catch if you can a live dolphin performance and be sure to leave time to see a show in the 4D Immersion Theater, which treats the audience to a 3D film made more real still by special sensory effects.
